Hi Bruce, the 2391-20 is generally accepted as being harder than the -10.

The theory exam is a very similar format to the -10 theory exam and also has a few similar-type questions to it albeit more towards the design side of things.

Your -10 practical is identical to the -20 practical so you are deemed to already have that part of the 3 parts of the -20.

The project gives most people a few headaches but if you can devote enough time and be methodical then it can actually be an enjoyable experience!

Get the IEE publication 'Calculations for Electricians and Designers' it's a mine of useful information.

Sorry I can't help with a venue, the -20 is becoming a rare animal!

Hi Iq

Cheers mate thanks for the heads up mate

yes i had read beacuase i had done the 2391 i wouldnt have to complete the inspecting and testing part again

so the theory exam is based on design and the project part is the bit i will deffo be more stressed on
when doing this part do you get any guidance of the tutors etc or is it simply down to you following drawings ad specifications etc to complete with no help from the tutors like exam conditions?

This is where the venue choice is important because you should be able to contact your tutor with queries and for advice, I can imagine big differences in the way different providers handle that.

If you can possibly speak to someone from your neck of the woods for feedback, that would be the best way of selecting a venue.

Anyway, there'll be plenty of us here to share your project!
