I wanna get 2391 under my belt. WOuld you suggest a block course is better or doing it over a few weeks 1 night a week. Thanks

both have the advantages mate tbh. if you do the block in the week try to get it as close to the exam as possible. the advantage of the one night a week is the obvious one of being able to still work etc and also to get your head around gn3 after you come out. if i was taking mine again i would go do the block one and get the exam as said as close to the end of the week as i could

Hopefully will manage to get employer to pay for it so it will no doubt be nights 1 day a week so they can still have me working. Worth it to get the ticket tho. What about books etc. I have 17th ed red reg book. The brown on site guide. And i invested in a c and g past papers revision book. Is the guidance note 3 needed?

I wouldn't recommed doing it in a week as a block unless you really know your stuff, from experience the evening exam needs some preparation such that you can achieve.

Evenings are OK if you can be sure you don't miss any sessions, many electrical guys work away from home at some point and hence you would have much travel to do.

I deliver 2391 and have a very good success rate, I deliver the course for 3 days about 2 weeks prior to the exam date, then agree a date for a one-to-one practical assessment for half a day, finally I bring the whole group back on the exam day just after lunch for a tutorial and have you in a relaxed frame of mind for the exam in the evening.

The advantage of splitting the course means the delegates can study past papers in the two weeks prior to the exam date and be fully prepared for the exam.

I deliver in Malton, North Yorkshire if its any help!

Cheers

I'm doing mine one full day a week x 4 starting end of March with the exam in June! Only time I could get at the college. I think it will be good having a week in-between to study but waiting almost 6 weeks for the exam will be tough but beggars can't be chooser's. Seems like a long way away but I bet it flies by.

Doing this part or full time depends on the individual learning style, allowable time off work and the training centre (how good and how it is delivered, - day night or block) and of course the cost ££££

2391 exams are at set dates in the year the next one being 10 March consider the date when planning your course dont want to do a block and have to wait a long time to sit the exam

To answer Robo the books that are recommended for the course

GN3
Current red On-site guide and/or current regs book
Also centre recommend you buy the IEE exam success - inspection and testing 2391-10 about £12 online from amazon

mbet - Who do you deliver this for and can I see details
