Hi,

I am due to sit my 2392/1 practicals soon and during the course of my revision have come up with some un-answerable questions.

2392:
1. Are we required to perform live Zs checks in addition to working out Zs for each circuit?

2391:
1. what percentage Inspections should be performed on the exam (I know its 10% in real life unless a discrepancy is found?)
2. what is the correct procedure for testing the 3 phase elements (this was not covered in any detail on my course)
3. is the phase rotation test required to be done?

Also if anyone can provide me with the makeup of the individual boards within each exam, I would be most grateful!

Cheers

Thanks to everyone for their experiences and advice. I managed to pass my practical 2391 today and passed my practical 2392 two days ago. I have already passed the 2392 theory so I only have to complete the 2391 written to complete my qualifications

agree with 2 didnt see for new circuit
18 is seperation between selv an lv so 500v 1.0M pg 41 gn3 tests between selv and other circuits
26 is asking for external earth fault loop max ze and as 0.35 is the only one there thats the one i chose

wait re read question 26 lol now i agree with iq its 26b
but its worded badly as usual was thinking tn-c-s but its refering to a tn-s system
so i only disagree with iq on 18

26 is 1.85X.8 = 1.48

1.48-1.03 only leaves 0.45 left for Ze in order for the circuit to comply.

You might be getting confused with the ESQCR max Ze values for different earthing systems.

yes mate i was lol
but i still think 18 is refering to testing for seperation of selv and lv mi insulation resitance 1.0M as the selv is employed in a area where lv is so 500v and 1.0M as you have to check between lv live conductors connected together and selv lives connected together

so i only disagree with iq on 18

And quite rightly, I rushed in and didn't read the full question!

For any of my students reading this, I messed up question 26 just to show how important it is to read the question fully!

iq why pir on 2 so to do a additinal new circuit you have to give a PIR as well as a EIC i thought you just had to confirm the existing was acceptable and would not be affected i am ow leaning towards 2C
relevent comments on existing installation which would be on the EIC lol

why do C&G word things so badly and confusing

I too rushed 2 , 18, and 26 are very sneaky lol just shows read a few times eh mate to be sure you understand the q
