Is it asking for confirmation of the SUPPLY polarity or The INSTALLATION polarity.
To check polarity of the supply you can use an Approved voltage indicator and calibrated proving unit. You need to confirm that the polarity is correct before you connect and energise the new installation for reasons which should be obvious, and you cant do it if it is dead. You must dead test and confirm the installation polarity with the R1R2 method as part of the Initial Verification process, and you would use a low resistance ohm meter. Job done. Calibration GS38 blah blah blah.

yes simple but if you read the examiners report for 2394 it says that students did understand that the installation was not energized and what does supply mean it could mean the supply for a lighting circuit , they have no made it clear
