Just trying to brush up and work out where I went wrong last time!

cheers in advance

Welcome to the forum.

Simonslimline has the basics in a nutshell.
If you know GN3 then you are likely to pass even though there are a few questions that may be other parts of BS7671.

Remember the exam is for periodic inspection and testing, so initial verification will not be covered.

Read the question, think about the question, make sure you understand the question and answer only the question.

Note the wording in the question.
state : one or two word answer
list : provide a (bulleted) list
briefly : no more than a line or two
In detail : provide full information and list all the steps including any working out
with the aid of a fully labelled diagram : draw a diagram and put labels on it

If the question says give two reasons then give two reasons, not one (unless you are stuck), not three as this is wasting time, you will not get extra marks for more answers on the same question.

Note the marks for the question
Generally one mark means one point of information, if a question has only one mark assigned to it then you should not be writing a paragraph, probably one or two words at most.
If a question has ten marks and you have written two lines then you have probably missed something important. re read the question.
However if a question has ten marks and it is asking for ten items and you have a ten item list then you could be there.

Do the questions you can complete easily first, do not take a long time getting stuck on a difficult question and so miss out on answering ones you do know about.

Read the question, answer the question.

Good luck.

Buy the 2394/2395 exam success book if you don't already have it. This tells you how to layout answers, key words to look out for, practise questions and answers, etc.

And have a look at the examiners reports on the C&G site.
There is a lot of useful information to be had from them.

Thanks bobzzz!
I have worked through these just wondered if you had any more?
Thanks in advance

Will more help?

They recycle the questions a lot more regularly these days.

How are you finding your ability to actually understand and write a technical response?
