thanks again for these , on the course itself ,do they how should i say teach you whats required , or is there a need to already know most of it .
is the gn3 the only book you use

No probs mate, well to know most of it would be a benefit lol, Tbh the training at the centre will be very limited I'd have rather paid more for better standard and extra time....one thing I will say is don't confuse this corse with initial verification.....earth fault loop impedance / insulation testing can come before continuity of protective conductors ect so no strict order, read gn3 and also download "best practice guide EICR" it has loads of useful info especially of fault coding. I'd also recommend the NIC DVD periodic testing (only problem is they haven't updated it to amendment 1 so there is C4 codes) a side from that STUDY STUDY STUDY ;)

what do they get you to do in practical

not done the practical yet......dont even know if i passed the written lol but i was told the criteria is, 3 phase board, 1 sub supplying few circuits to test....100% sampling (basically initial verification but the tests can be done in any order think it needs to be done in 1 hour 30 mins.......if i was you download the generic EICR and play around with your CCU at home....just a note remember that your Zs at DB is your Ze at your sub board.

2391 is replaced

2391 is replaced with initial verification and 2395 EICR. Many were failing the 2391 national pass rate approx 40%. Done mine with NICEIC, had a crapy tutor given us the wrong info. Good thing had time to study and correct. Just have practical to do on 2394. Anyone done it and give me heads up on what they are looking for. They did mention it but it was a rushed course.
