Re: 2391 is replaced

2391 is replaced with initial verification and 2395 EICR. Many were failing the 2391 national pass rate approx 40%. Done mine with NICEIC, had a crapy tutor given us the wrong info. Good thing had time to study and correct. Just have practical to do on 2394. Anyone done it and give me heads up on what they are looking for. They did mention it but it was a rushed course.

I had 3 assessments to do.

1. Visually inspect a rig and list faults.
2. Insulation resistance test on a consumer unit with two faults.
3. Zs test on a special rig and comparing 2 results to the tabulated value in the BS 7671 using rule of thumb.

Then the two hour pratical on a rig with no faults. 1.5 hours of testing from Continuity right through to RCD. Then 30 mins report writing.

I found it as stressful as my driving test. Instructor sat behind you. I passed with a couple of minors.

Re: 2391 is replaced

Thanks Ducksy, very useful. Sad as it is I've answered those questions (well most of them) earlier today. Would be great if i could cross ref with correct answers. I know on some of the questions I've waffled on a bit! Thanks

NICEIC have a new one out now called EICR and testing, only problem is it is on a rellitively new installation so all very straight forward, in real life we will be looking at 1970's installations that will be a bit more difficult to work on

the 2394 has replaced the 2392 which is focused on initial verification. the 2395 which has replaced the 2391 is focused on periodics and filling out the EICR. I have done the practical which is the same as a 2391 test board (so Im told)but with a couple of faults. The 20 short questions of the 2391 have been replaced by 40 online multi choice questions which I have also taken. Im doing the written part on the 16th .... GULP which is similar to the 6 long questions of the 2391.

Thanks Ducksy for the material on 2395, would it be possible for to check the model answers, especially on how to describe the EFL path, and any other material on 2395 and 2394. Thanks again.
