As per title , any thoughts or comments welcome from those currently engaged on this course.

Doing the course at the minute, got the exam on thursday. The project was to design a Argos extra store but they just called it a different name. It definitely has made me look at things from a different perspective when looking at design. Almost finished the project ive got another question left, time wise has been quite hard work, juggling work doing the project and doing things at home.

well the course isnt a beginners introduction to design , it assumes you have a fair bit of understanding beforehand , and will require experience at commercial - its not aimed at domestic installers.
first day in class goes straight into design calcs , so you need to practice your maths / equations before starting.
with only 4 full days tuition you really need to be self taught on design principles , the course just brings all the elements together and helps you to think about how to make assessments on an installation.

good luck everyone with this weeks exam !

I'm signed up with my local college to start this course in Feb. I'm looking forward to it to be honest as I've been much more involved with design as of late, it might sound sad but I just love maths, I guess I've never been one to shy away from a bit of number crunching. Always helps to have more strings to your bow I say.

I must admit though, I'm always amazed at the amount of designers out there who are so used to using software that if you gave them a pen, paper and a calculator and asked them to do what they do with those instead they'd be absolutely stumped! I don't know where I'd be without my trusty Casio!

I've always said, proper sparks are mathematicians first, wirepullers second :D
