240v but no continuity

Hi, Just went round to a customer who wants the ring extended in the garage, Prelim checks found no continuity on live, OK on E&N. When power is on 240V on each leg. Will go back and look further, customer said everything was unplugged but thought I would ask if anyone had come across this before?
Thanks

L conductor come loose in a socket? hopefully no hidden JBs.

Thats my guess too, this is an old house, I think its going to be a long job for 3 extra sockets...fingers crossed.

You'd be better off running a separate radial to the garage sockets imo.

After you've sorted the RFC issue of course...

ok lets get this you are extending an existing ring in a garage or are you extending a ring into the garage. Plus unplugging equipment has nothing to do with because you are measuring the resistance and it should be the same as the neutral.

So for me you have a broken live

There is one existing socket in the garage on a ring from the house that they want added to. Thanks

Most likely a line has fallen out/broken off at terminal. Check all sockets and DB to find where. If no joy, you'll have to go and find the hidden JB! Good luck with that!
