I'm using lengths of 25mm PVC channel to bury some cables in plaster/breeze, but despite trying several nail sizes, the channel keeps splitting & cracking when I secure it.
What nails are recommended to avoid this please.

T+E clips work just as well seen as it's getting plastered over.

That's a pretty risky strategy.....only takes one slice with the plastering trowel and it's game over. In fact, most spreads I know would ask for capping to be put on first.

T+E clips to hold the capping...

I know it's late but come one, get with the programme...

Alright, alright. I'm still trying to get my head clear after Cheryl. Though in fairness, not so sure about our friends post in #8

True but I have found it depends on the width of the channel. I myself have dabbled in the dark and mysterious art called plastering and haven't managed to scrape a cable yet, just depends how you hold your tool...

Ah - so we're assuming that it's cable in a channel, rather than on a blank wall??? See, makes a difference, doesn't it.

For the record, clout nails everytime but I've also got a favourite trick for where you've got 2 or 3 cables on a short length of just a few inches and the channel is fairly narrow, try using a big penny washer (or 'repair' washer as they now seem to be called) across them and put the nail inbetween the cables. Works a treat.
