2amp plug for lamp

i prefer the 5a type, slightly bigger, easier to use and easier to terminate into.

and suits the 6A MCB sizing better

How do you work that one out?? 2A outlets are generally used for table lamps and the like, and also generally connected to the lighting circuit!!
 
you'd be surprised to see what i have seen wired into 5A sockets lol

ie a 2amp to 4gang 13 extension lead to "convert" the "funny shaped plug" so they can use it ! lol

Me Dad had a workshop in his shed.

In it he had a lathe, a drilling machine, a grinder and a twin 5 foot fluorescent light. The whole lot was wired back to the house in 1.5 T&E with a 5 amp round pin plug on the end which was plugged into a 5 amp round pin socket in the hall.

OK ...... it was very unlikely he's ever be using the lathe & drilling machine at the same time, but even so !!!!

As I was was a 12 year old at the time, I didn't know any different so thought it was the way to do it.
