That's good going - haven't been up Ben Nevis but have done caldair in Wales - hard slog but good (satisfying) - like you, took pleasure on way down, watching those on way up lol
Our version of the 4 Peaks was 1 per day, and on the 3rd day it meant doing Snowdon very early so we could make the ferry to Ireland in time to do the Irish one on the 4th day - incredibly satisfying when we finished.

Ah, 3 peaks plus Ireland, good effort! :)
I did the 3 about 17 years ago in 23hrs 40mins, a bit knackered at the end, which included a stop at a Little Chef for breakfast on the way to Wales (they were notoriously slow at serving back then!)

I'm in training for my 3rd attempt at the Cuillin Traverse this coming summer. Got to get them 1000s of ascent in.

That's all just light exercise compared to some of the pit heaps (colliery waste heaps) we Geordie kids used to play on - and that was after a hard day's skiving off skyule an' all.

Me and me mate got into the Standedge Canal tunnel, before it got renovated, in his old rubber dingy once.
About a mile and half in...SShhh, can you hear anything? Out of the silence you could hear this persistent hissing noise...

I've been avoiding this thread deliberately for the last couple of days because I don't have any time off and I just knew everyone would be gloating how they were going away for days, if not weeks, to somewhere exotic. Eventually I had to read it in a staff capacity to make sure there was nothing untoward going on. Anyway.....carry on, I doubt I'll be back :(

*edit** I'm sure I just heard on the news that civil war broke out in Budapest this afternoon and all flights in and out are canceled until further notice ;)
