I was thinking exactly the same thing shortcircuit, ...This is all very basic stuff were talking about here... Could of just simply :book: ....;) ..lol!!!

I am new to this trade as some know and lighting did seem to be a more challenging area but when it clicks you look back and think "what a numpty, that really isn't so hard to understand" lol

As you quite rightly state too Engineer54, the answers are in the book and it's for this reason that my Amicus, on site guide and building regs book live in my "everyday toolbox" and my little yellow guide to Inspection and Testing lives in my Fluke carry case:yesnod:
 
The lights and switches are all sorted.Thanks so much to everyones input and as one of the posts explained earlier. Just common sense and just a case of breaking it down into seperate elements.Thanks again and its really appreciated. Top guys.
