Mid November our solar panel fitters purchased an Elios4you system from Greenologic, with a Power Reducer to heat the water, and fitted this for us with solar panels.

On 13th February the Power Reducer started to take electricity from the grid instead of from the solar panels. We had to switch off the immersion heater to stop this from happening.

We rang our solar panel fitters who told us to contact Greenologic and sort out the problem with them directly.

Greenologic asked for the serial number of the Power Reducer and we were told that they would get back to us. (They have got both our telephone numbers and email, so there is no problem with contact.)

After a week of hearing nothing we rang Greenologic again. We were told that a new Power Reducer has been, or is being developed, by 4-noks and that Greenologic would have to get one for us. There was no date that could be set. They would have to get back to us. It seemed very vague.

Since that time we have heard nothing from Greenologic. We are losing money daily because we are not heating our water, and electricity is just going back into the grid.

Our solar panels fitters have never contacted us to find out if we have resolved the problem. It seems they think it is our problem to sort out, not theirs.

We have got an insurance backed 10 year parts and labour warranty with the fitters, and we had assumed that if there were any faults that they would rectify them, if necessary contacting Greenologic or 4-noks themselves.

Should the fitters be sorting this out instead of us?

Greenologic have indicated that they usually deal directly with the fitters, rather than the end customers. The support we have received from them so far seems sadly lacking. Is this usual for Greenologic?

Has anyone else had problems with Power Reducers? Or heard of an improved model?

Would we be better to change to another system?

Any advice on the way forward much appreciated as there has been no progress towards a solution in 2 weeks.

Thanks.

There has been a problem with the power reducer, I have a had one with same fault, just replaced the power reducer and sent it back to Green logic. Your installer should have done that straight away. Bad installer

I'm surprised that Greenlogic haven't offered to replace the power reducer even if this is a short term fix until they have a new one ready.
