4.3 kw oven would you fit on to a ring main

hi guys would any off use guys connect a 4.3 kw oven on to a ring main if it was not possible to run in a new supply for this appliance let know what you think

In a word no.

Any cooking appliance 2kw or over should have its own circuit.

Just out of interest, how would you propose connecting it to the RFC?

hi mate just asking the question i was in a house to day doing some work and noticed this was the way the spark wired it . he has fitted a 20amp double pole switch and marked it up as 16amps .i would have ran in a new supply my self very hard job but i think a better one

hi 4.3 kw = 19amps and as jason pointed out 2kw requires a dedicated circuit
plus manfacturers instruction would state something along them lines

Apart from the rating of the cooker. It's annoying to have to switch the ring off to change the cooker in the future. Added to which if the cable to the cooker is buried, if there is ever no cooker, there is a potential for an exposed cable to go live when the ring is on.
