Sorry if i am not clear enoughearlier.i have 5 lamps with holders mounted on panel and 4 plugs on each sideof panel.i need if i connect the supply to any of plug and select switch toactivate only that plug all my lamps glow and i can plug supply from any sideto my panel.please advise
Im sorry M8 this just does not make any sense at all, if you cannot understand a simple rotary switch diagram....were all wasting our time here
 
hi all
i am new member and need help.I have to connect 4 plugs to one rotary switch so that one plug can be active at a time and three remain disconnected and when rotary switch moved to position 2 second plug became active and other three inactive.Please advise whether i need 4pole 4postion switch or any other.Please provide wiring diagram also if any.thanks

Maybe something like this Rotary selector changeover switch which would be single pole with how ever many switch positions you want. There panel mounted can't remember a specific make but have a look on rs website or even ebay.
