Do i need to hold my formal qualifications for 4 years before i can become NAPIT approved ?

They require 4 years post training experience, if you want to go for a LABC Approved Inspector on top of your Part P / Approved Electrician registration (plus another ÂŁ25 of your best brown beers tokens :)

ELECSA are a part p provider (which covers domestic and commercial installations). The ECA (electrical contractors association) are for the industrial installs but ELECSA are part of the ECA. To be accepted onto the competent persons scheme you will need to hold a formal cert such as the C&G 2382 (17th edition). They will expect that you sit the C&G2391 within a year but a stopgap is the C&G2392 (initial verefication isp and test) which will allow you to cert your own work (upto 100A single phase) so its up to whoever wants to join these schemes to decide what they want to do............
