40 amp breaker for 32amp hob?

Installing an electric hob that needs a 32 amp supply. Would it possible to use a 40amp breaker with a 32amp fuse switch?

does the hob actually pull 32amps or does the manufacturer ask for a 32amp fuse to be fitted

If 6 mm cable then it should be OK on a 40

@spark22 it feels as though there is a simpler solution to whatever you have in mind, as it's probably considered a fixed load and diversity may apply. As asked above, what exactly does the manufacturer say in the installation instructions?
A bit more info like cable size, what sort of hob could help get you better advice.

Yes it is possible.

But that would be very expensive and you've got to find somewhere to put the relatively large and ugly switchfuse!
