Afternoon. Apologies if this has already been discussed at length - I haven't lurked for a good few months due to some personal issues. Just wanted to throw this one out there and see what the consensus is. I may just be having a daft moment and missing the obvious.
Existing sodium bulkheads installed on external wall fed via contactor. Each luminaire is fed from a Klik Rose, mounted above the suspendsed ceiling. Most of the fittings have failed.
Proposal is to replace with the equivelant 'black box style' LED bulkheads. However, obviously the existing arrangement is a plug and socket under 32a, which made me think about 411.3. 3 and the requirement for all sockets below 32a to hve RCD protection.
Should this now be applied as the fitting is being replaced? Or is an essential "straight swap" of the luminaire (essentially an appliance) simply maintenance and no changes to supply required.
Appreciate the RCD is desireable but just wondering what the consensus is. I'm assuming a straight swap of the appliance on the end of the flex from the Klik classes this as maintenance and no work further back required.
Cheers
