redface

dose anyone use 4mm tw/e now to supply sockets on 32a mcb as a spur if so what distance can you go in plastic 3 compartment trunking reference method c is 37A but methord B is 32A
now as there is only 1 cable in trunking. so i cant see why it drops 5A just to being inclosed in plastic

or dose everyone still use 2.5 ring circuits

Dose it matter you can get 26 A per socket a pice of equipment can only take a max of 13a so that is what you don't want to much volt drop for not the double socket and VD = mv x Ib x l / 1000 and I would say Ib is not 32 A because that is (It) but Ib can only be a max of 13a

If anyone can tell me what the argument is on VD for rings an radials I would be happy to read it

And yes I have put ring of 4mm earth for earth EFLI as there are a lot of PC on this circuit how many of you would really have done that ?

I don't know why I asked the question all a have got is grief from everyone

ok , lets start at the beginning then ,
whats your Ib for the entire circuit ?
you say 13a.
if so , why use a 32a mcb ? why not 16a ?

multiple points served....
so loads are not perminently connected are they...as its socket outlets....so base your VD on max allowable load for the cable....which you have given 32A

Hehe you guys are all crazy...

The 70m 4mm 32Amp - 20 sockets Volt Drop is 24.64 fair enough.

20Amp 15.4Vdrop

16Amp 12.3Vdrop

10Amp 7.7Vdrop Getting Better and what should be a Max something like 9.2Vdrop or 9.6Vdrop if i remember....

Most computers only use about 300w to 800w in an office, screens are mostly LCD or LED 56w to 120w in new offices im thinking you may need to make 2 rings for the above with no jokes.

Room for expantion in rings I feel....or a 4mm ring will seem more right....

Good luck with your crazy Ideas... :)

Redface, admit you're a troll. Otherwise people are gonna be thinking your 18 years experience is in plumbing :)
On the off chance you are serious, what's your estimated leakage current on all this IT equipment on your circuit? Daz

Volt drop is 5% which is 11.5 or 12 volts but for lighting its 3% could be wrong this Is what I remember from 17th edition exam

Right I'm going to give you 30 minutes from now to explain why you have 2 user accounts. I have already checked that they are from the same ip address. So spill the beans or be banned.
