50mm duct & hockey stick - new supply

Laying ducting and hockey stick as preparation for new 3-phase supply which will be installed after front drive is done.

How is the hockey stick joined to the duct?

I was told by Polypipe technical that that end of the duct slides into flared end of the hockey stick and forms a tight joint. But they lied. So now I have a butt-joint to deal with. Shall I wrap the join in duck tape? Using Polypipe 50mm duct (60mm external diameter) and Polypipe 54mm hockey stick.

The documentation from SSEN specified size of ducting (min 50mm), but silent on spec for hockey stick. A meter box / hockey stick supplier said 38mm hockey stick will be fine but I went larger anyway. BUT just need to understand how to join duct to hockey stick as the SSEN spec is silent on that too.

Every duct i have used was always a slip joint. A butt joint will be an absolute nightmare, soften the plastic with a heat gun and push it into it or buy the correct joint.

For the likes of the "BT" 96mm duct you can get sleeves to join male-male pipes, for example using an off-cut that lacks the female flared end. However, unlike the flared joint they are not tight fitting so a bit of PVC 'glue' (the sort used for PVC waste pipes) can help keep it in place.

Hockey Sticks are used to protect the electricity supply cable from the cable duct into a meter box.

Starting from where you are, I'd get a slip coupling for the duct, and build the end of the hockey stick up with duct tape to fit the coupler.
As long as it stays together while you backfill, it'll be fine and no one will be any the wiser.
Are you putting in a draw cord?

Can you point me in direction of slip coupling? Outside diameter of ducting is 62mm and same for flared end of hockey stick is 53mm.

Large diameter heat shrink or lots of self amalgmating tape?

Cut off a short lenght of duct, slit it length wise. Slip it over the duct to hocky stick join. Wrap with duct tape. Simple
