Good evening.
I have been asked by a client to size and install an electrical supply from a meter position located 600M from the property and consumer unit. The client wants the supply run underground.
Supply is 240v single phase 100A TNCS.
Could anyone assist with size and cable type recommendations?
Any one else run such distances at 240v on private land?
Thanks in advance.
Steve.

Greetings.
I don’t want to be harsh, but My first thought is that if you need to ask this question on an Internet forum, then you should not be doing this sort of work.

Surely you know how to carry out basic cable calculations?
What is the estimated Ib for the proposed installation?

Welcome to the forum mate.
We are happy to help you out but we don't just give out info. How will you learn if we do that.
Give us your calcs and what you think and we will correct anything.
Everyday is a learning day.

600 meters is a long distance....

Its all in the yellow book, but unless you have a maximum load you wont get anywhere. Things to consider: Direct buried or in duct, depth of trench, loads and PF. 600M is a long way , earthing will be a challenge . I did an industrial run at 420M and the cable alone was 20K but that was 2X 120sqm 4C

Hi,these decisions are important,as the supplier,in my experience, will not care if you make a bad choice...they will just let the owner live with it,and keep on billing...

I have had recent experience with a 460M supply, which really is a casserole of nonsense. :(

AS a second (more constructive) thought.
Have you thought about having the DNO move the supply to a point closer to the property?
Or have them provide a new, separate supply.
Then it's the DNO's problem to sort out!

For a 50 amp SP supply over 600m you are looking roughly at a 120mm cable that’s about 15k worth of cable. If its for a bore hole pump or something obviously it’ll be a smaller load.
