6mm2 for 8.5 kw shower

can i fitt 8.5 kw shower using 6 mm2 cable 3m from mains board
only thing is its going through loft insulation more than 100mm
would it be ok to use trunking with insulation on top would this effect cable calculations

i think we have all agreed that some of us work within the regs and some work without.
what you do is personal preference and the facts are in this thread for all to see and make their own minds up.
if it complies i do it, if it doesnt comply i dont. but thats my opinion and i am very happy with it.
i think this thread has lasted long enough now for everyone to decide which side of the regs they work to and i wish you all the best with your future install choices.

Sorry that I'm late in on this one. No, really I'm sorry I missed it. Been away from pc. I think it's obvious that there are some who will follow the regs and some who wont. Regarding cable sizing I would err on the side of caution but if someone else doesn't want to I can't make them, and if it goes tit5 up then they only have themselves to blame

Cant believe all the drama..i would have the install done in an hour rather than spending time worrying about it on here! im with flukey comply with regs..thers only one way n thats to do things right!! Regardles of what any little old lady says..remember its ur neck on the line and if the little old lady disagrees well let the cowboys in and leave with a clean consceince
