Hello all,

Been an electrician for 8 years now, but only an installations electrician for just over a year, been working with other electricians and doing bits myself and im really enjoying it, so decided to make a go on my own and got my Elecsa assessment coming up in a month, so any tips for the assessment and what is the best way to learn the big red book??

Also what is the best way to wire underfloor heating and heated towel rails??

Thanks.

the main thing to remember on asses is not to panic they are not trying to catch you out and most are very helpful.

the best way to learn the brb is to start with the osg which covers most domestic installs

towel rails and heating are installed the same way and given the same considerations as any other circuit.

I'd recommend investing in the "Electricians Guide to the Building Regulations" - a good read and something you will need on a daily basis

Your not expected to Know the BRB inside out but you should know How to read it and how to refer to it and know the basics

the assor isnt there to catch you out but to make sure you have a good understanding and arent a clown He wont give you a rough ride unless he feels you arent up to it
