Mr Cockburn, I have read your posts with varying degrees of amazement and amusement. Obviously you believe, despite industry accepted standards which have been proven, that you are correct.
How then do you answer your critics in the IET, an organisation which I'm sure deserves respect, who in their review of your book state that you are either "An individual with a deep and unfathomable sense of humour or a dangerously deluded fool"

I wasn't referring to you Trev, I'd also be genuinely interested to know why he's so adamantly convinced he's correct and everyone else is mistaken. He's certainly highly motivated in preaching his way even though it flies in the face of good practice and not to mention the industry regulations and I like to know why.

C'mon guys please don't belittle and ridicule other members no matter what their beliefs may be. Mr Cockburn may be in a minority regarding his bonding techniques but I believe he's serious and genuine if somewhat technically incorrect. I'd rather see the technical issues were up for debate rather than his character....just taking the pi$$ doesn't sit well with me and going by Mr Cockburn's track record I doubt it will deter him from the path he's on.

Marvo, never mind he's a member. He is a liability in publishing his books. Read them, then pass judgement.

There are so many errors in this book, and is giving out dangerous advice! It doesn't even look like this was proof read as the grammar is appauling.

I was referring to the critics lack of proof reading of his own review.

Is this the same clown that thinks you can use ADS within fire alarm systems ..... safely and efficiently? At all might be nearer the mark - tempted to buy the thing to find out exactly how he thinks that can be achieved....it's just that in almost thirty years of fire, security and electrical work, I've yet to come across a fire circuit that automatically disconnects from anything....or where that would be of benefit at all.

I also 'read' the 'look inside' of the green comic too.... well, the introduction. Not good is understatement. Even without going grammar ----, the mistakes start in the very first paragraph of the intro.... how is flex difficult to grip, yet pipe work, essentially the same shape easy?

I suspect Mr Cockburn may have failed his Electrical Trainee course.... and in doing so, undeniably must have become the very first person ever to do so, hence the need to publish to get by. I'm not at all sure he's qualified in any sense for either subject or book.

Perhaps it's not just the industry that needs licencing - but also those who write for profit about it in any "educational" sense.

I doubt he profited much Bill looking at the reviews!

Actually, I have to thank Mr Cockburn. Well, I'd been thinking about what he was saying on the other thread about the electrocution via the stud wall, and I'd become very restless at night thinking about all the metalled foil on the outers of the Kingspan in the walls of these new builds that I've got going on. Anyway, the lads thought I'd lost my marbles but well, they soon got into the swing of bonding every single panel for me....can't take any chances now, can we?.

Oh, btw, does anyone know where I can get 120 way earthing blocks from??
