Not trying to rub noses but landed two great long term jobs today! Been years coming, recession ending I hope. Lets just hope payments are good, was considering packin it in but this has restored my faith. Even tidied me van to celebrate !

Good on ya!.... beats my day stuck between J30 and J31 on the M62 for 90mins to find arrived on job as arranged to connect knew 120grand machine up to find it hasn't arrived and subsequently had to go back at 2pm as promised arrival but still no sighting waited 2hrs before it arrived the 4ton 7m long machine is then found to be nailed down with anti-slip nails to the lorry floor thus taking best part of 90mins releasing it from the frikin truck. A 1hr job took all day but thats the nature of my job so no stress here.

Other than my crap day yesterday im also finding positive things in the market.... delayed construction work starting again, im chocca block now as during the recession i sourced new customers in the machine repair side and all of a sudden existing customers have woken old projects back up.... could be signs things are getting back to norm.

I get the impression that people are just getting bored with being told to be in a recession and are putting two fingers up to it all and getting back to getting on with it as best they can. Certainly the 'silver economy' in the domestic market seems to have made a come-back around my way.

Things are definitely picking up. An example, Millers are just about to break ground on a ÂŁ300 + Million hotel, housing, business, leisure complex in the centre of Newcastle. The government are about to pump multi billion quid into the rail network and station upgrades which will mean thousands and thousands of new jobs.

More people working = more people spending. :)

Completely agree with you. More activity means more money and more money means more activity.
