Can anyone reccomend a good knife to have in my tool box. Iv searched for electricians knife but that brings up a lot of results. I'm aware some blades go blunt really quickly so wondered if there was a particular type that is longer lasting

I use the knipex electricians knife and sharpen it with an oil stone every couple of weeks. I love it. The only recommendation is to keep the cap safe as once it's lost it's lost. I keep my lid on a string on my pouch and put it back on when the knife goes back. ÂŁ11 odd at electrafix at the moment

I use a folding utility knife mostly, it has stanley knife blades so you just change them when they get blunt.
I do like the hultafors electricians knife (ELK) but it does get blunt too quickly.
However the choice of knife does depend on what you need to do with it.
I do have a ceramic knife (not VDE rated) just in case I might be cutting into a live cable!
