Hi all, just been asked to put the wiring in for a temp fire alarm in and just want to confirm if we're just having smash glasses and sirens then I wire to the smash glass then up to the sirens,

They have a 4 zone panel but just using one zone for the office, 1 smash glass and 1 siren

The other zone is 4 smash glasses and 2 sirens, how would I wire this??

Cheers for any help

would help if we knew what panel. are the zones and siren circuit separate?

Hi mate,

I am not trying to be clever here, but you would wire it up in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.

Cheers..........Howard

no offence but you dont fill me with confidance! smash glasses!if you are not familiar with the wiring, you prob wont know you also require a electrical cert, a design cert, a verification cert, fire alarm installation cert,design/as fix drawings have i fogot anything!

Yer I think it's best, did one of then 2 day fire alarm courses came away with a cert and I know absoloulty nothing about then!!!! Haha

Sorry markers, 10:15 at night after a 16hour day my heads pickled and I will come out with stuff like smash glass oppose to break glass but that sound if you won't to pick up on that then be my guest, I already openly admitted I am not to bright on them and said it is only a tempory one for a couple of weeks on a site office.

if it's a standard panel, the detectors are wired in the zones, sounders in the sounder circuit/s. each is a simple radial but with end of line devices at the last detector/sounder. not necessarily the same eol devices for detectors and sounders.

my post started"no offence" so take it how you like! dont matter if only temp if the building goes up questions will be asked! and it will be you in the dock! so suit ye self!

agree with you mackers, if OP is not fully conversant with fire alarms, he should leave them, or bring in somebody who's au fait with them to share the job.

Again as I said I am
Only running the fp200 in, I am making no connections or programming the system etc, I am running out the fp200 then leaving it coiled up at each point for the break glasses and sounders,

I did suggest that a manual system Oppose to like a L4/L5 would be sound as there is no one sleeping here, but they have insisted that due to a health and safety visit they want this covering before the site is renovated and a full new fire alarm is fitted
