Hi

I have just had an MCS assessment, and one of the comformities are make customer aware of metering requirement on intial quote.

I have checked the internet and can't find any information on this procedure.

Can anyone let me know what you have put on your quote forms regarding this and the wording.

Any help would be grateful.

Many thanks

Paul

a non-conformity?

As I know there is no requirement on quote for details or specifics of generation metering, just a reference to customers existing MPAN.

Put it another way, our quote forms dont have it ( gen meter details ), and we didnt get pulled on it..

Thanks for the quick reply, my quotes don't mention it either, and have been told it is a NC, been told to mention it on the quote sheet. What advice do you give your customers regarding meter readings?

We just mention in the quote document that a generation meter will be fitted 'in location ---' and readings from this will be used to determine Feed in Tariff payments. Or something along those lines.

Thanks for the info JulianC, this is what I am going to put in my Real Quote in the notes.

A generation meter will be installed close or near to the distribution board and readings from this will be used to determine your Feed In Tariff payments, and needs to be read monthly.

Does this sound ok.

Sounds OK to me. Just get rid of either 'close' or 'near' as they are saying the same thing

jesus who did you have to have to that as a NC, he asked me and i said it wasnt in my contract, 30 seconds later i opened my blank default contract and added it in, he said good. next question.

if he would have carried on a would have had about 4 NC's, they were that small and took less than 2 minutes to do them all, why would an asseser not help you out, especciallly the time scale you have, i could understand if it was back in march or something

Yes I agree, the guy was a shark, didn't give us chance to put anything right, I thought they were their to help you out on small amendments, I know other assessors have done the same helped my friends out.

I have got assessments coming up for Solar Thermal and Heat Pumps my wife said the assessor is not coming back to this house again, fuming. He was unhelpful, and awkward and I am going to let our membership body know once we have been accredited, as you say we are all underpressure at this moment in time and don't need NC on stupid things that you could be right there and then.

some inspectors need to get a life!!!! perhaps now they wont be so in DEMAND they be more CLINT friendly!! glad im getting out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
