Hi all,

Okay, this is a very newbie question, but that's because I am a newbie! So please don't shoot me down as it's a genuine question.

I was wondering about what else needs to be done when changing a Consumer Unit.

For Example... If you change a consumer unit from an old re-wirable fuse box to one with say MCBs and RCDs or a box with all RCBOs, do you need to change all the wiring too?

Would it be acceptable to leave it all in place IF it complied with the earthing arrangements and current carrying capacity / Voltage Drop conditions for what it was supplying etc. even if it was the old colours.

Or would it have to be upgraded to be harmonised colours?

I look forward to your answers and opinions.

Blessings,

Si
