117 goals in 290 games for united FROM THE WING. Nothing but a diver hey :D

Not a very good record as what about Dixie Dean scored a record 60 league goals in the 1927-28 season (which still stands to this day) and a total of 349 goals in 399 games for Everton.

232 goals in only 109 more games.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

If my employers were charging customers ÂŁ1000 a day and were only paying me ÂŁ100 I'd be pretty mad.

What I mean is the players get paid an amount which is proportional to the amount the club makes.

A very clever group of people got together a while ago and decided if we get rid of the thugs and booze and make football a commercial game then they could all make a load of money for it.

So instead of a bloke going the match and spending a few quid he now drives to a massive stadium on a retail park with his Mrs and two kids. All wearing a replica shirt at ÂŁ40 a piece, they spend twenty quid in KFC, then pay ÂŁ100 to watch the match.

They all get a drink and a hot dog, little Jimmy buys a new poster from the club shop.

Little billy watches some foreign winger dance around the field coz the defenders are not allowed to tackle anymore and admires his shiny gold boots as he scores, then runs to the crowd kissing the club badge as his agent is busy arranging for him to be seen in a resteraunt in Barcelona to ensure the club offer him a fat new contract.

Next weekend they are back at the retail park spending ÂŁ100 on replica boots so little Billy can be like his idol whilst playing on the school field.

I passionately hate what football has turned into and miss the days of muddy pitches, hard tackles, no millionaires, and no advertising.

I'm gonna go calm down now

Well said and too true.

At the end of the day its still a good record. Im sure most club's record scorers are better than ronaldos, im just making the point that whatever you think about him, HE IS an unbelieveable footballer. No ifs, no buts.

Im a united fan and saw him quite a few times at OT and nearly threw me chair at every time!! Then what happens?? He slams in a free kick from 30 yards that 10 gordan banks' couldn't save.

Hes a diving little ****, that doesn't track back, and thinks he's better than everyone else.

And EVERY fan with half a brain would love to have him on their team!

ps Just realised the OP was actually talking about money before I got carried away! Like Romans said, "don't hate the player, hate the game"

Unfortunately Roman, the fact is Commercialism is here to stay mate, doesn,t matter what sport it could be international tiddly winks, if theres money to be made , the TV will make it mate, so when it comes down to it we the customer have to pay regrettably if we want to watch our favourite whatever.
Now the fact they are paid vasts amounts is another matter, if someone is willing to pay u vasts amounts are u goin to turn it down, I don,t think so, if you say yeh, i,m sorry you,d be a liar, mud or no mud on the pitch.

I wouldn't turn it down. Hence the first few lines of my previous post.

I'd be on every advert I could and would use any dirty trick if it got me more money for my family.

But what I'm saying it's not the players fault.

It's the agents who say - go have dinner with Chelsea and i will make sure the newspapers see you so that Liverpool will panic and offer you more money.

John terry for example. Kept his gob shut whilst City were after him and then surprise surprise gets a pay rise and gives it "I never wanted to leave"

I just hate commercialism full stop, and refuse to be sold to, ripped off, conned, lied to or be treated like a fool

The biggest problem is that the money men know die hard fans love the game so much that they will put up with the high prices and "carlos kickaballs"

When I was a kid playing footy I wanted to play in the FA cup final, play for England, world cup etc

The kids who play football now want a Ferrari, pop star girlfriend and massive house.

I'm moaning again aren't I?

No , i know what yer saying mate, but its never goin to alter, not in our life time anyway, or i will refrase that in my life time, however i to ,in my day was probably at best a not to bad amatuer and kinda had dreams like yourself but in my day the wages weren,t brill and look at the old greats, i know bill foukes who is a busby babe, a legend mate, but hes probably not rollin in it, he played for the love of the game, i also know darren ferguson, worked on his house, and met sir alex a few times they are a million miles away from bill foukes but at the same club.
THe agents are on mega money until fifa stop em mate and thats it.

Wonder if i knocked him on the head so he didnt know it was me (dont wana be sued do i ) then put a disguise as him on if i last say 10mins before they know its not him if out of good will as theres so much money to burn they might pay me for the 10mins if i kicked the ball in the direction of the goal even if i miss by 62354823342 ft i might get a runner up wage !
Regards
Kung.

Ron Manager "Playing in the park, two coats for goal posts, leather football: laces in the face, boots made out of grandad's galoshers"
:D:D

I think silly money will continue until all English clubs are owned by super-rich billionaires who then get bored by it all & move on to the next pretty play-thing. Now Who wants to buy Luton Town F.C?

Blame it all on Trevor Francis!!

Nothing, they are paying you to take it off their hands:DSorry Notsosmart, haven't forgot about 1992:eek:

I think you mean 1988,

That's alright Mac us lesser teams have to stick together:D
i,ll buy luton town how much is it.

It'll cost you gallons of tears, years of frustration, plenty of agony & the occasional bout of ectasy Oh; & currently nearly ÂŁ20,00 per game..., for non league...., & we're still losing..., to what amounts to part timers:mad::confused:

I still wouldn't want Ronaldo in the team....

Yeh ok I would but only so I could Boo him in a pantomime kind of way:D
