Hello
there is one three plate pendant in the lounge on the ground floor and I've been asked to install a new chandelier fitting about half a meter away.
the client doesnt want to keep the existing light,so i cant simply fish a cable from the ceiling rose.with the joint being accessible whats the best way to move the light without taking up the floorboards?

Why dont you explain your comments. I do find this site has certain regular users that are offensive. You seem to enjoy a secert language of p*#s taking. Why cant you just reply with a mature reason why you dont agree with another users opinion. This would result in other users possibly learning something.

This post was started by a trainee, looking for advice. The two regular posters that have had a laugh between themselves have made the post their own. If you guys want a joke get on another platfirm to do it and leave this forum for people who are serious about the questions and answers.

It's not a case of Mickey taking, you have to ask yourself what prospective customers think when they, possibly get emails with the obvious glaring spelling and grammar gaffs. I am not doubting the OP's credentials, qualifications or experience.

I would like to know what is wrong with a well executed termination using wagos incased in a chocbox.
We apologise if we caused offence. It is a running thing with me that I do not like Chocboxes, I think they are a cheap nasty solution and there are many more alternatives for little increment in cost. Just hearing the word brings me out in a sweat:)

Moving it 0.5 metre..... How do you plan to get past any joists? Is it nearer or further away from the switch? Is the neutral at the switch? Are you plastering the ceiling?

So many questions before we even get to the thorny subject of inaccessible joints!

Fairly ridiculous when you think of the quantity of screw terminal JBs across the country which are under floorboards and the like and are still as fit for purpose as when installed sometimes over 40 years ago. This along with the Amendment 3 CU regulation seems to be an attempt to lessen the risks from bad or incompetent workmanship, just my thoughts.

Fair play, can you explain in detail why?
The joint needs to be MF because after completion the original position of the lighting fixture

Agree with you Dave

Because to qualify as MF and carry the MF logo, the whole system (i.e. the connectors and the enclosure) need to be type tested together, as a whole unit. As soon as you use Wagos in a different enclosure than it was tested with at the time the system gained its 'MF' credentials, it ceases to be MF. Silly, but true.
