Just started 2365 at local college as the Electrical Trainee course I did was s***t at the practical stuff. Pretty basic stuff but at least I get to play with some conduit. Third of the cost as well. Last time I played with taps and dies was probably in school metal work circa 1975:oops:

Probably best to use the bending machine rather then the vice mate if you're threading the steal conduit.

Come on guys there are more of you out there than that get posting this section is only as good as you make it ask anything no matter how daft it may seem or whatever this is a learning place we won’t ridicule you we will point you in the right direction. Remember even when your qualified and have a good bit of experience there’s still more to learn. So give us a post and show us your on here using the section

15 in the class with about 4 benders ;) hence the vice :D
Not sure that’s entirely politically correct now is it :tearsofjoy:

Joking aside it isn’t going to be the end of the world to practice in a vice the conduit bender vice would be much better but if that’s all you’ve got then it’s better than nothing.

To be fair, the class tutor did point out that we should not be using the vices on the work bench. Most students were quite happy to work with the benders :D

The class tutor should stop you using the vices, the conduit bending machines are the way forward.

Im still not fully qualified yet but still remain in the trainee section.
Currently working in the H.V sector replacing transformers and switchgear etc so just cant get the time to complete my original goal of becoming fully qualified. When I get a chance I will be back to college to gain the level 3 2365 and complete the NVQ 3 and AM2 I will only then be a qualified electrician.
For what it is worth though this forum has taught me a lot and will continue to do so.
