Adding a few Down Lights

R

Ok first of all I AM NOT A SPARK, so use small words. Also I completely understand the risks involved, if I do not feel comfortable I will get someone who does. But I atleast want to have a go.

So, in my bedroom I have 6 downlights, in 2 rows of 3, I want to turn this into 8, 2 rows of 4.

1. What will I need? (dont tell me I need the lights and some 1.5 cable that much I know)
2. What am I gonna see when I get into the loft and lift the insulation?
3. What do I need to do with what I see?
4. What should I take note of and make sure I do or dont do?

and on a more serious note, these guys rnt giving you "lip" buddy, they are just hugely experienced guys who have done this job a l ong time and before giving out answers need to be fed solid information to work with before they feel comfortable giving out advice to any tom dick or harry who wants to poke about with something that could easily kill you, your family or burn down your gaff. no one wants that on their shoulders, and certianly not to happen full stop. Ive asked my fair share of dumb basta*d questions and been shot down just as quick - moral of the story is, before asking a question ,get your ducks in a row, and make a SERIOUS note of pauls last post, as those are the upmost essential pieces of info needed before any work starts.

Failing all of this, downlighter kits generally come with paper instructions... :D

Answering me with some respect and decency is all I ask, but I am not going to repeat myself.

Downlighter kit or a sparks number sounds good :)
