Absolute nowhere else for it to go /be fitted etc . How naughty in reality ??

Dont have permission from client to take pics in their Home . The Consumer is going to be replaced .It has a couple of inches max around it . Its on the ground floor .Incoming header is in a small boxed next to it . No room between meter and Consumer .Only room is between new header and old type meter .Meter has not been read in years by anyone else than home owner . Only reason for a D/P isolator is its easier than pulling the 80amp and dealing with the seals etc .

You’re going to have to pull the fuse to add an isolator?

Or if supplier is pulling fuse for you, then get them to move the meter… (which will be a simple enough job in itself)
That was my first thought too! The fuse IS the isolator in this scenario, subject of course to suitability, safety, degradation etc etc. Really need to see what we're dealing with here, but would have thought that if you've the space to install an isolator in between the intake and the meter then just move the meter to where the gap is, install the isolator where the meter moved from?? Naturally.... none of this can be done by you without express permission of both the DNO and Energy supplier........ 😉

Why are we all still playing this game... talking about DNO's when pulling fuses when there is no isolation. Pull the fuse, install an isolation point, I have friends who work for network operators and can't give any answer to this type of dilemma. The fact that we have to work on consumer side equipment with no isolation means is a farce and everyone knows it

Pulling fuses isn't the issue being discussed.

The issue is adding equipment before the meter.
