Adding to an existing system

Hi, some advice please....

I had 3kw of solar PV installed at 43p FIT rate. I now want to add another 1kw. Can anyone tell me if i would get one rate for the full 4kw if so at what rate, or would there be two separate rates?

There are loads of posts about this. Your 3kW will still be at the 43p rate and the additional 1kw will be at the new rate. Your FIT provider will prorata the total generation from the 4kW accordingly to the 2 rates of payment.

We have just increased a customer's installation from 12 panels (43p rate) to 18 panels. We got DNO approval to take him up to 4.2kW and his provider didn't want a 2nd meter installing as they will just pro rata the payments.

@SolarRoofSols in that case though your client presumably got the 4 - 10kWp rate for the extra 6 panels as his total size is now over 4kWp ?
