Additional qualifications???

Hi all, been lurking about here for quite some time and decided it was time for the first post :D

Recently had my time out so im now fully qualified spark, card reads;

Recognised Apprenticeship
SVQ Level III
SJIB Recognised 17th Edition Inspection & Testing (BS7671) 2009
Approved Health & Safety Assesment
ECS Assessed

As yous no doubt know the industry aint exactly booming just now and work is scarce to be sugar coating it. I was wondering what courses would be adviseable to go on to help me attain work and not be overlooked by more experienced electricians???

Iv seen too many young lads abandon theyr trade and not go back to it for what they call a 'temporary job', i love my trade and couldnt imagine doing anything else hence the reason why il try anything. The ILA and various other organisations can help with funding for courses so i was hoping someone more experineced than myself could point me in the right direction??? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, Sean

Re: Advanced Competence Assessment (ACA)

is this a sort of Scottish AM2??

No, it's required for Regrading to Approved Electrician under SJIB.

The AM2 is known as FICA in Scotland.

(I'm not from Scotland, so you'll have to ask someone else if you want details about ACA.)
