HI, Just replaced an old security alarm panel for an ade optima compact panel, using zones (1-5) i have set the remaining zones (6-8) to unused on programme 1.Also zones 1,3,4 are set as timed zones for exit/entry. I performed the walk test, all was ok and the system arms and disarms as it should. However after twice leaving the premises i have recieved a phone call from my customer informing me that the alarm had gone off without being in an armed state. This happened several times....Is there anyone who can advise as i am stuck.

Did you change the external siren as these can often cause tamper issues if they are not fitted correctly (not suggesting that you would have fit it wrong btw), I had an issue with 1 once every time it was very windy it disturbed the lid tamper so it took some locating.

Cheers guys, No external siren fitted as of yet due to the spurious alarm trip problem, tamper link is fitted in panel for the siren circuit though. Also because the system was fitted a good time ago it was only done with 4-core cable which only allows for connection of the power supply and alarm contacts on the three pir sensors. the other two zones used are door contacts. Again the tamper link for the zones is in place the only other connection is for the P.A. which works fine upon operation. The tamper switch for the panel is also fine as it sits behind the front panel of the control panel.

Assuming the pcb itself is not faulty, then it does look like an "unset" or daytime tamper - and from what you have described that can only be the panel lid or rkp. What shows on the panel after it has gone into alarm? Is the battery new and charging ok? It's not a zone on chime (it does happen!)?

Regards.

Hi polo1,just got back from the customer looks like it is an intermittent on the PA cabling. I did have continuity on installation but now there is an open circuit. Hopefully that was the cause. I will let u know if anything changes. cheers
