I am not seeing any prices being bashed around online .

over the last few weeks people have withdrawn prices form the websites.

lowest I have seen are 5400 for 4 kwp be not seeing any other prices ?

is their really a price war or is the genral public not bothered about solar ?

I don't think it's a question of the pricing being too high, the returns on a £6-£7k system are good. I think, as others have mentioned, it's a combination of poor weather, Olympics and negative press about FITS. There will be another FIT reduction on us before too long so maybe it will spur people on.

We're not planning to go anywhere near that low for standard domestic installs. Maybe on a new build with zero vat and scaffolding already up or something.

I've just seen an add in a north norfolk magazine stating 4kwp installed for £5000 inc scaffolding and vat. I know the bloke has taken a full time job as a project manager for a large printing company in kings lynn so he must be installing at week ends or subbing it out (assuming he gets any sales even at that price)

Yes, we are still selling 4kWp in the mid to high 7k range. Have always sold at £1-2k more than the crazy advertised prices we hear banded about, also we have won 11 out of the last 13 jobs we have quoted on. Bit confused about it really but it is keeping us in the game.

we've just had someone opt for a panasonic system at £9k from us even through we also offered them a hyundai 4kWp system for £7k.

They preferred how the panasonic would look on the roof or something.

must be nice to be able to afford that sort of luxury eh.
