Hi everyone

Recently came across this forum and the wealth of information available on here. Basically since reading some of the threads on here I have discovered adult apprenticeships (I was under the impression apprenticeships were only available to 16-24 year olds). I am looking to get started in the electrical industry and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any companies (preferably in the hampshire area but vital) which offer adult apprenticeships, I am currently looking at colleges and intend on writing to companies aswell. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards
Tom

The water companies tend to go down the ONC/HNC route for an apprenticeship, rather than the C&G route.
The NVQ is taken alongside the ONC. This tends to give you more options career wise I beleive, than the standard C&G quals.
im C&G qualified, and am currently doing my HNC. I wish I could of done it earlier.
Good luck mate.

If there are any big companies - the sort that own offices, then it would be benefitial to go around and ask for job vacancies in person. It gives a better impression.

To everyone else, the one man bands and smaller companies just ring them up. Ring college's and they'll also put your name down, they'll try and help you find an employer aswell.

Might be benefitial if you buy yourself some educational books and start to learn some basics before hand to show you're willing. Also, there's a 'looking for work' forum on this website...try post your information on there - you never know if anyone is looking in your area.

Good luck.
