New here. Like the pickles was wondering is it worth getting into pv and if so what course do you guys recommend. I am niceic approved and would be looking to go green deal etc and mcs. Any advice would be great

Hi ratkins, welcome to the forum.

I've split your post from the 'show us your installs' thread and made it into a new thread of its own.

Why?

Read the threds on Green Deal, unless you go the whole route and become a GDAS, then you'll be a lowest cost slave to the GDP's.

Re PV it's here to stay and is being installed on on ongoing basis, depens upon the level you want get involved at, thet best couse would be C&G 2399 Level 3 qualifications and training courses | City & Guilds Your Rouite for PV is then tp get MCS registered, or work as a subby for an MCS registered firm.

Just search the forum for Green Deal or MCS Certification for all the in's and out's

[h=2]If you have loads of savings and plenty of free time for all the courses that you will require, then go for it.[/h]Oh and by the way, by the time you are qualified the PV politics goalposts will have moved some more.

I hope this helps.

thanks
i thought the course was one week for c&g then another week for MCS?
was also enquiring what sort of income i coud expect from this out lay.
if someone could pm as i appreciate its a delicate subject ,i dont need private information just a guide as what ou expect say pa.

The cost of the courses will need to be taken into consideration,
Then quality managment system if you dont Have one you can purchase an off the shelve that may also include the green deal that may be around 600 pounds. you will need to Have a system installed for sign off purposes (price dependant on system size and supplier)
Then You will need to pay the accreditation body for sign off again roughly 600 pounds.

How many other companies in your area are doing this ??? are the busy!!!! they reckon 750 domestic installs UK wide in last week for around 4000 registered companies you do the maths...
Then Hopefully then you will get work.....

not trying to burst your bubble but this period has been very hard work for all established companies ..
Regards
wiggly
