Every time I go into our workshop toilet I look at the pipework. Copper pipe going to a plastic valve and then a 6" length of copper pipe coming from the valve to the plastic tank. Each side of the plastic valve is the earth strap with a short length of earth cable 'earthing' the otherwise totally disconnected 6" piece of copper pipe. Ah, the good old days.

In 2017 aberdeen city Council were still insisting on bonding kitchen pipes and sink ,a real pain in the arse as you had to get the apprentice to fit a rad clamp to sink before it was fitted other wise it was a faf.also bathroom rads and pipe work and steel bath all while running in main bonding conductors and rcbos.that was the relaxed rules before it was a 4 mm from light switch to shower to pipes etc .
