I have a bubble tube that I want to get working for my young son, but after digging it out of the loft, I discovered the plug was missing. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction of where I can get a plug that fits the connection shown? I'm not an electrician and have no idea on what to search for! Thanks in advance!

That is a DIN speaker plug, popular on hifi and car audio from '70s to '90s. More recently used for connecting low voltage equipment to its transformer. If that is the power input cable to the device, and you have nothing else, what you need is not a plug but a transformer of the correct rating to replace the missing one.

I thought the socket end you was after wired to a transformer... I am confused now.

No! That DIN plug will be low voltage. It plugs into a transformer (that is missing) which in turn plugs into the wall. You need to obtain the correct plug-in transformer from the manufacturer as per my post #3.

Hi Lucien, check out post 4 mate. "Lucien - Yes there is transformer in the base of the lamp."

I think that might be an error. OP, please can you confirm the voltage as stated on the data label / plate on your lamp. What makes you think it contains a transformer?

FWIW Ikea used to be very fond of these, they used them for various voltages AC and DC. My old office used to be full of them, in every case the lamp was ELV and plugged into a wall wart or brick PSU using the DIN plug.
