i have a ring circuit with 9 sockets on it, somehow 1 of the legs between sockets was wired in 1.5, is this ok if not is it possible to disconect the 1.5 leg and have 2 radial's and what size breaker would they need. if i do have 2 radials, 1 will have 8 sockets the other will have 2.

change the 1.5 leg to a 2.5 job done 1.5 is for lighting, if you go for the two radial work out max demand divide by 230 and that will give you your mcb fuse rating, make sure you work dead.

What you could do is locate both ends of the 1.5 disconnect one end of the 1.5 and add a fused spur , ,then make the 2 legs of the ring as radials and protect by a 20 or 16 amp MCB,not the best way of doing it but if you cant replace the cable at least its protected ,thats if there are sockets on the 1.5 other wise just remove it and use as 2 radials with 16 or 20 amp mcb protection
