I'm currently 4 months till the end of my mechanical engineering apprenticeship and in the 4 years I've spent a couple as an electricians mate learning what I can, wiring basic control panels and helping to install new circuits.
Since I'm comming to the end if my apprenticeship my company are encouraging and helping me to get my electrics and become an electrician aswell.
I've seen a course "Nvq electrotechnical technology c&g 2357 level 3. My question is can I go onto a level 3 without a level 2? And complete my electrics part time in 3 years.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Cheers

The 2357 is level 2 and level 3 ( the old c & g 2330 lv2 and 2330 lv3), plus practical assesment ( old nvq 2356 ) and AM2.

You basically get everything rolled into one.

Hi cheers for the reply, on the college website it says that the entry requirement for the 2357 level 3 is "a full level 2" so I was wondering I'd that's got to be an electrotechnical level 2 hence I might not be able to just do my level 3

hi the c&g 2357 is basically the startin point in the electrical industry now it has all the old qualifications built into one (2330 level 2 and 3, and nvq 3), it is a level 3 qualification from the first day to the last so all questions and answers are expected to be at level 3 standard, the only thing with this course is you have to be in the electrical industry as you can pass the course without doing the nvq side of it and for that you need onsite electrical experience for an assessor to come out and so on but it is a really good course once you get past the 5 months of health and safety in the 301 unit

overworked and underpaid
for what you have to know to carry out the job correctly , the tools you have to supply not to mention test equipment + calibration + membership schemes + update of courses + regs books + if you are lucky enough to earn a few quid the tax man will gladly take 50% of you for getting your bum out of bed and working 7 days a week and late nights .
Did i miss anything

I totally agree with this inverter I have not even finished college yet and I am already regretting the decision to become an electrician hopefully it will get better when I finish college and can work as a fully fledged electrician fingers crossed
