C&G NVQ 2346-03 Experienced Worker Assessment

I have been a self-employed electrician for fifteen years. I have managed with only 2330 Level 2 & 3 for all this time, and been assessed annually for BSI Kitemark Approved Contractor scheme (until they stopped) and the NIC EIC (Domestic Installer) for the past 8 years, where I am the sole PDH and QS.

Since they change the scheme requirements, I now have C&G 2391-52 and the C&G 18th Edition too, but in order to future-proof myself I am intending to complete NVQ 3 and then AM2E, and to be honest it feels like a huge backwards (but necessary) step. I don't know why a stack of documented successful assessments shouldn't be enough to exchange for official recognition from C&G to be honest!

Can anyone who has completed this recently enlighten me about the sort of work I will need for the portfolio? Will I have to provide evidence of cable tray, steel conduit, etc? I haven't touched steel conduit for years (although I do own a conduit bender).

I do occasional commercial work, which I have begun documenting and photographing so I am not caught out when the time comes, but I am wondering what I may struggle with, seeing as most of my work is domestic extensions, kitchens, bathrooms and conversions, with the odd full refit.

Many thanks in advance for guidance.

TL;DR

I have not completed this route but since you have had no replies :-

This video is about the Installation Electrician EWR so 5 years experience is mentioned, the Domestic version is 3 years required. It predates the Domestic Electrician EWR version, though that is mentioned towards the end of the video.

Since you have a Level 3 Qual and experience you should have no problems at all with the skill scan phase and portfolio of work.

Have you checked out the Skill Scan document?

Skill scan document for domestic

Nothing on the Domestic Electrician EWR you should have problems with in terms of getting the portfolio. No steel conduit required for instance just PVC.
