hey guys, As a new trainee just started my course, I was wondering if there is anything that I should be doing or learning to help me get the best out of this course, other than when I just get to that section in a book. any advice would be welcome.

got a better one. mine came out after colour tv was available.

Might be a bit early for you yet, but try having a look at every video you can and advertising text as well as forum reviews on testing equipment. It might help you see what YOU can work with best when you put your sparky boots on, instead of having a particular (subsidised) brand offered by the college.
The very best of luck buddy.

Best of luck Drew.

What I’ve found is when ever I’ve got spare time it’s revise revise revise sometimes for hrs, I know what they teach us in college is a small fraction what we need to learn and know it’s up to us to put the rest of the work in.

Mind you spent 3 hrs the other day learning about star and delta connections, diagrams etc and remember very little.

Concentrate on the areas you feel you are struggling with and practise the theory side using online mock tests etc. Google swindon massive and that will help on test papers for the required level you need.
Try not to get to far ahead of yourself if that makes sense as a lot of it wont make any sense until you have cracked the basics.
