Hi,

I am changing a CU and all the previous CU changes I've done have been obvious what to do regarding cable runs.

I have attached a pic that shows the current CU and its clipped T & E's, the problem I've got is the client wants a few more new circuits and i will need to install a further 7 T&E cables that will follow the same route as the others.

I originally thought some 50x50/50 x 100 trunking to tidy them up but there is hot water pipe running vertically in the way

Has anybody got any ideas and how they would do this or some ideas to think about?

Thanks

if you have 50mm behind that pipe then use 100x50 trunking run in behind pipe, run along top of consumer unit & use top entry through the trunking use brass bush or plastic bush, put stop end on the trunking lid on, job done nice & tidy.
not had issues with being compliant with latest regs we have had a visit to properties using this system on new builds & inspector happy with the fire containment at time we were using metal trunking & he mentioned we could use plastic.
if not as handy spark says above

There isnt 50mm behind the pipe unfortunately, running 100 x 50mm pvc trunking along the ceiling was one possibility but I was sure how to get all the cables into the CU neatly.

All the advice so far very muchly appreciated

You have a favourable situation there were it is easy to move the CU in the direction of the cables ,as there is an isolator fitted and tails are simple to extend. I doubt if you will have to contend with tight cables.
It is a straight forward job using the solutions provided.

Ah, you gave me the impression that all the cables were to come from the same direction . Either way it is not difficult.
The CU also has 4/5 cables entering in the back of it, so i would need to install a box to joint and extend them cables. So either way I have to contend with the pipe
