Hello everyone

Going to have a look at my mate's AEG U7101-4-M Double Oven. It tripped the circuit breaker the other day and on resetting the breaker the main bottom oven does not work. Nothing on it is lit up or anything, however the little top oven is working. Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has come across this problem before. Thank you.

Thank you for the reply. I'm not sure if it is on an RCD, going to have a look later on, just trying to get any advice before I do. Trying to save him a bit of money before I have to tell him to phone an AEG engineer, ha ha.

to phone an AEG engineer, ha ha.

last resort. i went to a customer who called the manufacturers out to a blown thermal overload. they charged her £65 for the part ( i get them for £10 ) and £70 call-out/labour. then VAT on top. when it went again , i did it for £15 parts, £40 labour. she well chuffed and got me back a week later to replace SWA to hot tub, new garage CU, and a load of other work coming up.

only replace element after you have determined that it's faulty. you need to be there and do some investigation before deciding on spending shekels on elements.

My guess is an earth to N fault in the damaged light fitting. This will become a problem when other devices draw large currents.
