Thanks in advance for any help. One of the two oven lights blew; heard the pop. This is a 20 year old Stoves cooker.
Turned off the oven knob (regulator?)
Fitted new bulb, turned on knob to check, both lights lit and fan came on, but when I turned the knob off, lights and fan stayed on; didn’t heat up which is good.
We cooked in the top smaller oven and ten or so minutes later, the big oven lights went out.
After we ate, I tried the main cooker and it worked perfectly. Went to a temperature I set.
As it wasn’t working properly for about 15 minutes and I also couldn’t set the clock on it (working now) my wife wants to get someone in.
I’m happy to do this, but as the cooker is working perfectly now, any ideas how it could ‘not’ be working for a short while and then work normally!?

could be that you didnt turn the switch off fully?
i would let your wife use it for a day or 2 and report any faults back to you.

if there is no fault at the moment and it seems to be doing what you ask of it, i doubt an engineer will be able to track down the non existent fault.

however, if it continues to do unexpected things or not work correctly then i would get someone inn.

Thanks for the reply. Definitely turned off fully. I’m tempted to go along with the try it out policy; it’s electricity not gas. Intermittent faults… know what they’re like with vehicles. My wife would like me to at least call the repair company tomorrow. I’m sure they’ll say the same thing, but it will put her mind at rest.
